We are going to open the doors to the Strand Cinema on Christmas Eve, so that you can take a well earned breather from all that Christmas shopping and present wrapping.

We’ve got two family favourites. First up is Elf at 2pm. This classic movie from 2003 tells the story about one of Santa’s elves (the magnificent Will Ferrell) who learns he is actually a human and goes to New York City to meet his biological father (James Caan), spreading Christmas cheer in a world of cynics as he goes.

Then at 6pm we’ll be showing Jack Frost. This oldie but goodie stars Michael Keaton as a father who can’t keep his promises and who dies in a car accident. One year later, he returns as a snowman, who has the final chance to put things right with his son, before he is gone forever.

It’s free entry and we’ll also treat you to some festive popcorn and candy canes!
