You may have noticed that here at the Strand we rather enjoy our Gin and our annual Gin Festival is a firm fixture. This year we’ve brought the festival forward to June so more people can enjoy it before they go off on their holidays. You can enjoy all of gin’s loveliness, Strand style, from Friday 22nd June until Sunday 1st July.
Of course this year is going to be bigger and better than ever as we feature over 70 gins on our bar. Everyday we’ll see a different Gin of the Day served with the perfectly paired Fever Tree tonic and garnish for just £4.50, offering you a chance to try something a bit different from your usual. There’ll be our ever popular Festival Cocktail List including cocktails such as Elderflower Collins, Flora Dora, Lavender Bees Knees and Sour Cherry Gin Sling.
There will be many events to look forward where you can further indulge your love of the juniper flavoured spirit.
On the evening of Friday 22nd we’re pulling together a special Gin & Tapas menu. Then on Thursday 28th June we’ll be repeating our popular Gin & Dine evening with our very good friends and experts from Fever Tree. Then if Afternoon Tea is more your thing to go with your gin, join us on Sunday 23rd and Sunday 1st July. Darren, Alex and Christina are busy putting the final touches to these menus which will post here as soon as we have them.
Want to hear more from those in the know? Then come along on the evening of Wednesday 27th when our chums from Martin Miller’s will be here to entertain with a Gin Tasting and masterclass. Not to be missed. On Saturday 30th a number of distilleries will join us for lots more tasting. Join Cotswolds Distillery, Martin Miller’s, The Sweet Potato Spirit Co., Warner Edwards, British Polo Gin and Fever Tree to sample their wares and learn all you need to know.
It wouldn’t be the Strand Gin Festival without plenty of live music. On Saturday 23rd June at 9pm we just had to invite SlowJin to join us once again. Then on Sunday 24th June at 3pm (outside hopefully), Union of Strings will join us for some Gin & Jazz. Then on Saturday 30th June at 9pm, the mighty Bridge will be here.
Phew, you know what they say? When life throws you a lemon, make a gin and tonic or even better let us do it for you.
